Lansdowne Tutoring began in 1998 to help young people successfully navigate the stress, pressure and challenges of Business and Economics examinations.
As a highly experienced Business and Economics educator based in SW London, with 30 years of classroom teaching experience, I have helped thousands of students achieve outstanding GCSE, A-Level and university results, supporting learners of all abilities and backgrounds.
I hold both a B.Ed (Hons) and M.Ed qualification and am a fully qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I am a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT) and am registered with both the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) and the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI). I also hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and an active Teaching Reference Number.
As an experienced examiner and recognised specialist in GCSE and A-Level Business and Economics, I possess in-depth knowledge of all major examination boards. This expertise enables me to provide targeted guidance, helping students maximise their performance and achieve their academic goals.
My leadership experience includes serving as Head of Business Department, Head of Extra-Curricular Activities, and Head of Digital Learning. I have also mentored teachers, supporting professional development and educational excellence within schools.
I have particular expertise in supporting international students, helping them navigate UK qualifications and develop the skills and confidence needed for success. Whether working with high-achieving students aiming for top grades or those seeking additional support, I provide personalised tuition tailored to each learner’s individual needs.

My Approach
My teaching philosophy is built on a two-pronged approach: developing both the student’s academic learning and their personal growth. I believe that exceptional results come not only from mastering subject knowledge but also from building confidence, resilience, motivation, and self-belief.
I adopt a holistic approach to teaching, recognising that every student is unique. As a subject specialist in Business and Economics, I provide expert direct instruction that simplifies complex concepts and makes learning engaging, accessible, and relevant. All teaching materials are bespoke and carefully tailored to the individual student’s needs, strengths, learning style, and academic goals.
Lessons are structured around clear learning objectives, supported by carefully designed scaffolding that enables students to progress with confidence. Homework is used strategically to reinforce learning, strengthen retention, and develop independent study habits. Students are provided with a comprehensive toolbox of support materials, revision resources, and study techniques that empower them to become effective independent learners.
Regular formative and summative assessment is embedded throughout the learning journey. Progress is carefully tracked, allowing strengths to be recognised and areas for development to be addressed quickly and effectively.
